Yoga is an ancient Indian holistic system of personal development. It teaches us to balance the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of ourselves through physical postures, breath and meditation. The postures stretch, tone, and strengthen muscles, joints and spine and keep them flexible. They increase circulation to internal organs and glands and helps calm the central nervous system.
Yoga improves cardiovascular conditioning. Studies have shown that yoga practice lowers the resting heart rate, increases endurance and increases oxygen intake. The breathing and meditation help boost the immune system and release the body's habitual tension patterns.
When we find internal peace then, and only then, will we create peace of mind and heart in all our expressions and relationships.
